A renewed wave of patriotism swept across the historic Wagah Border as thousands gathered for the traditional flag-lowering ceremony and parade, only to witness a moment that reignited memories of one of the most defining chapters in Pakistan’s recent military history.
The atmosphere turned electric when giant electronic screens installed at the border began broadcasting the historic message of Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the same message that had rattled India before Pakistan’s decisive response during the 2025 Marka-e-Haq under Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos.
The crowd erupted into thunderous chants of “Now Just Wait for Our Response” as the DG ISPR’s words echoed across the border: “You have fired missiles at our land. We only want to tell you this: we are a nation that will neither be intimidated by your power, nor your aggression, nor your deceit. Now just wait for our response.”
The message was originally delivered on May 10, 2025, shortly before Pakistan launched its three-hour retaliatory strike under Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos, a military response that demonstrated the professional prowess of Pakistan’s armed forces and shattered India’s arrogance.
May 2025 Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos
The roots of the conflict trace back to early May 2025, when the region was pushed dangerously close to the brink of nuclear war.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area, Indian intelligence agencies allegedly staged a so-called terrorist attack drama to create a pretext for blaming Pakistan.
Using that alleged false flag operation as justification, India launched “Operation Sindoor” between May 7 and May 9, 2025, firing missiles into Pakistani territory and escalating hostilities to an unprecedented level.
In response to Indian aggression, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos, meaning “Wall of Lead.” Within hours of the DG ISPR’s warning, Pakistan reportedly delivered crushing blows to Indian Air Force and ground installations, an operation whose impact is still discussed in international defence circles.
Re-broadcasting the Message at Wagah
Analysts view the re-broadcasting of the message at Wagah Border as highly significant.
Wagah remains a symbolic location where civilians and military personnel from both sides face each other daily, making it a powerful venue for strategic messaging.
Broadcasting the warning there serves as a clear reminder to India that Pakistan will make no compromise on its sovereignty and retains full capability to respond to any aggression.
The move is also being seen as a form of psychological pressure on India.
At the same time, it has boosted public morale and further strengthened the confidence of the Pakistani masses in the armed forces.
The remembrance of the 2025 Marka-e-Haq reinforces the idea that Pakistan’s defence doctrine has evolved beyond mere retaliation to imposing a lesson on any aggressor, one that resonates not only within military ranks but across the nation.
