Two close associates and personal gunmen of banned TTP commander Tipu Gul alias Tipu were eliminated during an operation in Lakki Marwat, sources said.
According to the sources, the two individuals were identified as Zakaria and Umar Khattab. Both were described as close associates and personal guards of Tipu Gul and were believed to have remained closely involved in his activities.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks operating in Lakki Marwat and surrounding areas. The elimination of the two men is being viewed as a significant blow to the commander’s immediate support and protection network.
Sources said the two individuals were not only trusted associates of Tipu Gul but also served as his personal gunmen, making their elimination potentially significant for the terrorist command structure operating in the area.
Security operations in Lakki Marwat have intensified amid continuing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent attacks against security forces and local communities. Intelligence-based action against identified terrorist elements has remained a key component of the campaign.
The latest development is also expected to place additional pressure on the remaining members of Tipu Gul’s network, particularly those involved in providing logistical support, weapons, shelter and movement assistance to terrorist operatives.

Security sources have repeatedly maintained that operations against terrorists and their facilitators will continue until the networks threatening peace and stability in Lakki Marwat and adjoining areas are dismantled.
