Security forces carried out two separate operations in District Tank, resulting in the elimination of four terrorists, including two senior commanders linked to numerous acts of violence, while a brave soldier embraced martyrdom during the intense exchanges of fire.
According to details, security forces engaged terrorists in the Wanda Zalo area during an operation conducted overnight. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, leading to the elimination of two terrorists. One of the neutralized terrorists was identified as Tariq, son of Shafiq, who belonged to the Kundi tribe. Several other terrorists were reportedly injured during the engagement and fled the area.
In a separate operation in the Sheikh Sultan area of Tehsil Gomal, security forces came under heavy fire from Khawarij terrorists. During the intense clash, Sepoy Jahangir Afridi embraced martyrdom while courageously fighting the terrorists.
Despite the loss, security forces pressed ahead with the operation and successfully eliminated two key terrorist commanders.
Among those neutralized was Commander Mushtaq, identified as the Gomal District Commander of the Khawarij network and allegedly involved in the killing of dozens of innocent civilians. His associate, Commander Rehman alias Rahmatullah, was also eliminated during the operation.
The removal of the two commanders is being viewed as a significant setback for the terrorist network operating in the region, as both were reportedly involved in planning, coordinating, and facilitating terrorist activities in and around Tank and adjoining areas.
The operations underscore the continued efforts of Pakistan’s security forces to dismantle terrorist networks and deny Khawarij elements the ability to operate freely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The martyrdom of Sepoy Jahangir Afridi also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices being made by security personnel in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Security forces remain committed to pursuing terrorist elements and their facilitators wherever they may be found, with the objective of ensuring lasting peace and security in the region.
