Security forces and counterterrorism personnel conducted a joint search-and-strike operation in various areas of Karak as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activity and prevent the establishment of safe havens in the district.

The operation was launched in view of the prevailing security environment and focused on remote locations, mountainous terrain, suspected hideouts, and areas that could potentially be used by terrorists for movement, shelter, or planning activities.

During the operation, ground teams carried out extensive searches of multiple locations while specialized aerial surveillance assets, including drones and quadcopter systems, monitored elevated and difficult-to-access areas. The use of aerial reconnaissance enhanced situational awareness and helped security personnel scan terrain that would otherwise be challenging to cover.

The operation formed part of broader counterterrorism efforts aimed at identifying and disrupting potential terrorist infrastructure, movement routes, and facilitation networks before they can be used to launch attacks.

Security officials have increasingly emphasized proactive operations designed to prevent terrorist elements from establishing footholds in remote areas. Such intelligence-driven activities have become a key component of Pakistan’s counterterrorism strategy, particularly in regions where difficult terrain can be exploited by terrorist groups seeking concealment.

The latest operation reflects the continued focus on maintaining pressure on terrorist networks and denying them the space, mobility, and logistical support required to operate. Security forces remain engaged in ongoing efforts to safeguard local communities and maintain stability through coordinated intelligence-based operations across vulnerable areas.
