The targeted counterterrorism operation launched by Pakistan’s security forces across several parts of Bannu district continues with full intensity, as troops tighten the cordon around suspected terrorist hideouts and advance into newly secured areas.

The operation is underway in Baka Khel, Jani Khel, Miryan, Sara Dargah and Wazir Sub-Division, where security forces are conducting intelligence-backed ground operations against Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists.

According to security sources, 24 terrorists have been eliminated during operations carried out over the past 24 hours. Following the clearance of Khani Khel and adjoining localities, fresh contingents of security personnel, supported by armored vehicles, have moved deeper into the operational area to continue the targeted action against the remaining terrorist elements.

As part of security precautions, mobile phone and internet services have been temporarily suspended in the affected areas to support operational requirements.

Meanwhile, Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists destroyed a public bridge connecting Hani Khel and Bachak with explosive devices, disrupting movement for local residents. The destruction of the bridge has created serious transportation difficulties for nearby communities.

Local sources also reported that announcements were made through mosque loudspeakers during the night warning residents about explosive devices allegedly planted on roads in parts of the operational area. Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement until the affected routes are declared safe.

The latest developments come as security forces continue expanding the scope of the ongoing targeted operation aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, eliminating militant hideouts and restoring lasting security in the district.

Residents have been urged to cooperate with security forces, remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities while the operation remains underway.
