Security forces foiled an attempted attack by terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) on an abandoned checkpost in Gwadar, forcing the attackers to flee following a timely response.
According to preliminary information, the terrorists targeted the unoccupied security post in an attempt to carry out an attack in the coastal district. Security personnel responded promptly and professionally, thwarting the assault before the attackers could achieve their objective.
Unable to withstand the response, the terrorists fled the scene. No confirmed information was immediately available regarding casualties or damage during the incident.
Following the attempted attack, security agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the fleeing terrorists and prevent them from escaping. Further details about the attackers’ movements and the outcome of the search operation were awaited.
The incident comes amid persistent security concerns in Balochistan, where terrorist groups have targeted security personnel, government installations and civilian areas. Attacks on security infrastructure, including abandoned positions, can also be intended to exploit gaps in the security presence and create fear among nearby communities.
The attackers’ affiliation with FAH and the stated objective of undermining peace and stability in Balochistan were included in the initial operational account. The precise circumstances of the attempted attack, however, had not been independently established.
Security agencies continued efforts to locate the fleeing attackers.
