Security forces eliminated one Indian-backed terrorist and arrested another in an injured condition during an intelligence-based operation in the Gamazi area of Mand, Tump district, security sources said.
According to the sources, the operation was launched after security forces received credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. As troops moved to cordon off the suspected hideout, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an exchange of fire. During the operation, one terrorist was neutralized, while another sustained injuries and was taken into custody.
Security forces recovered modern automatic weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, magazines and other military-grade equipment from the terrorists’ possession. The recovered material has been taken into custody for forensic examination and further investigation.
Sources said the arrested terrorist is being interrogated to determine the network’s structure, facilitators and any planned terrorist activities in the region. The identity of the eliminated terrorist is also being established.
Following the operation, security forces launched a clearance and sanitization operation in and around the Gamazi area to ensure that no other terrorists or their facilitators remained in the vicinity.
The latest operation is part of Pakistan’s continuing intelligence-led campaign against terrorist networks operating in Balochistan, where security forces have intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent attacks against both civilians and security personnel.
