Security Forces Foil Attempt to Disrupt Quetta–Taftan Highway; Multiple BLA Terrorists Neutralized

Security forces successfully thwarted an attempt by armed militants of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to disrupt traffic and block the strategic Quetta–Taftan Highway, preventing what could have been a significant challenge to public mobility and regional connectivity.

According to security sources, armed BLA elements attempted to obstruct the vital transportation corridor, aiming to create disruption and uncertainty along one of Balochistan’s most important road networks. Acting swiftly on the emerging threat, security forces launched an immediate and coordinated response operation against the assailants.

The timely action by security personnel resulted in the neutralization of multiple terrorists involved in the attempted blockade. The operation effectively dismantled the threat before it could escalate, demonstrating the readiness and operational effectiveness of the security forces in responding to hostile activities.

Following the engagement, security teams moved rapidly to secure and clear the affected area. The Quetta–Taftan Highway was fully restored for traffic, allowing normal movement to resume without significant interruption. Authorities confirmed that the route remains operational and secure.

Security officials stated that clearance operations are continuing in and around the area to ensure that no residual threats remain and to further strengthen the security environment. Additional measures have been implemented to maintain vigilance and safeguard travelers, commercial traffic, and critical infrastructure.

The Quetta–Taftan Highway serves as a key economic and strategic corridor, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and trade across the region. Officials emphasized that protecting such vital routes remains a top priority in ongoing efforts to maintain stability and support economic activity throughout Balochistan.

Security sources reaffirmed that hostile elements may attempt temporary disruptions, but they cannot derail Pakistan’s broader journey toward progress, development, and national stability. The swift restoration of traffic and continued operations against terrorist networks underscore the state’s determination to preserve law and order and protect national interests.

Authorities reiterated that operations against anti-state elements will continue with full resolve and that every effort will be made to ensure the safety of citizens, the security of transportation networks, and the uninterrupted functioning of critical infrastructure.

The successful operation reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to counter terrorism, defeat attempts to undermine public confidence, and maintain peace and stability across the country.
