Acting on credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of Fitna al-Khawarij, security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.
As part of the operation, security forces employed aerial surveillance to monitor the area and identify the suspected militant formation. During the surveillance, a formation of Fitna al-Khawarij was identified inside a compound, enabling the forces to develop a clear operational picture and initiate a carefully coordinated response.
Following confirmation of the militants’ presence, security forces advanced towards the identified location and effectively cordoned off and surrounded the compound, restricting the militants’ ability to escape and ensuring that the operation remained focused on the identified threat.
The forces subsequently engaged the militants using launchers and effective fire, resulting in the elimination of four Khawarij. The operation was conducted in a coordinated manner, with the forces maintaining effective control of the area throughout the engagement.
Following the engagement, security personnel carried out a search of the compound and recovered a large quantity of weapons, which has been taken into custody for further examination.
The successful operation demonstrates the security forces’ continued commitment to acting upon actionable intelligence and employing coordinated surveillance and operational capabilities to counter militant threats in the area. Intelligence-based operations remain an important component of ongoing efforts to disrupt the activities of Fitna al-Khawarij and prevent them from establishing positions from which they could threaten the security and stability of the region.
