Security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, have conducted successful intelligence-based operations in Bannu and adjoining areas, resulting in the elimination of 24 Khawarij following intense exchanges of fire.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were launched in response to recent terrorist activities in Bannu district, including attacks targeting police personnel and a vehicle-borne explosive attack.
The security forces initiated extensive intelligence-based joint operations to identify, track, and neutralize elements involved in terrorist activities and disrupt their support networks.
According to ISPR, during the last 24 hours, security forces conducted operations at multiple locations across Bannu and surrounding areas. Following heavy exchanges of fire, 24 Khawarij belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were eliminated.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the eliminated Khawarij, according to the statement.
ISPR stated that the eliminated Khawarij were involved in multiple terrorist activities, including attacks against security personnel and the killing of innocent civilians.
The security forces have reaffirmed their determination to continue operations against Khawarij elements and their facilitators involved in attempts to disrupt peace and stability in the country.
According to ISPR, operations will continue to ensure that those responsible for planning, facilitating, and carrying out such attacks are brought to justice.
Under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to combating terrorism through coordinated and sustained efforts.

The successful operations in Bannu demonstrate the continued operational readiness and coordination of Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies in protecting citizens and countering threats posed by terrorist networks.
