A wanted terrorist commander carrying a Rs3 million bounty was eliminated along with four associates during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area, sources said.

According to officials, the operation was launched after intelligence agencies received information about the presence of terrorists in the area and their alleged involvement in planning attacks.

The eliminated terrorists included commander Umar, also known as Jan Mir and Saqib Tor, who was wanted in multiple cases involving attacks on security forces and innocent civilians. Authorities had announced a reward of Rs3 million for information leading to his capture.

Sources said the terrorists were hiding in and around the Bobali Markaz area, where they had established concealed bunkers, underground tunnels and explosive traps.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched the operation based on intelligence inputs. Following an exchange of fire, all five terrorists present at the location were eliminated.

Officials said the operation also led to the dismantling of terrorist infrastructure used for planning and facilitating attacks in the region.

The latest operation comes as security forces continue intelligence-based actions and clearance operations against Fitna al-Khwarij elements in North Waziristan and adjoining areas.

Security officials reiterated their commitment to continuing operations against terrorist networks and preventing attempts to destabilize the region.
