Rocket Attack on Police Patrol Leaves Constable Martyred, Triggers High-Stakes Manhunt in Bannu

A police constable was martyred and a civilian injured in a terrorist rocket attack targeting a police vehicle within the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station in Bannu, officials confirmed.

According to police sources, a bulletproof vehicle assigned to the Fateh Khel police outpost was attacked by militants using a rocket launcher at the Kangar Jan Bahadur locality. The vehicle was on routine duty at the time of the incident.

Police Constable Raz Ali Shah, who was driving the vehicle, sustained critical injuries in the attack and was martyred in the line of duty. Senior police officials paid tribute to his sacrifice, recognizing his courage and dedication to protecting the community.

A civilian present near the scene was also injured in the blast. Emergency responders immediately transported the injured individual to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Bannu, where medical treatment is ongoing. The condition of the injured person has not yet been disclosed.

Following the attack, police and security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and initiated a comprehensive search and combing operation to locate and apprehend those responsible. Security has been heightened across the area as a precautionary measure.

Police leadership strongly condemned the attack, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining law and order. “Such acts of violence will not undermine our resolve. We remain determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of our citizens,” a police spokesperson stated.
