The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a major terrorist plot in Peshawar after eliminating one suspected suicide bomber during an intelligence-based operation in the Garhi Sherdad area along Warsak Road.
The operation was launched following confirmed intelligence about the presence of three suicide bombers in the area.
During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on CTD personnel, triggering an intense exchange of fire that continued for an extended period. One CTD officer was martyred, while three others sustained injuries.
CTD personnel effectively responded to the attack, eliminating one terrorist. However, the remaining two suspected suicide bombers managed to evade capture.
The operation to apprehend the two fleeing terrorists was still underway, as security personnel continued efforts to track them down and prevent any potential terrorist attack.
The operation comes amid ongoing counterterrorism efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent attacks in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
