The Pakistan Army’s Rocket Force Command has successfully conducted a training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-4 Ground-Launched Cruise Missile, marking a significant milestone in the country’s advancing missile technology program.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Fateh-4 cruise missile is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and an advanced navigation system, enabling highly accurate engagement of designated targets. The system is designed to strike targets with precision over extended ranges, significantly enhancing operational effectiveness.
The training launch was conducted as part of routine operational preparedness activities aimed at validating key technical parameters of the system and improving the operational readiness of field formations. The exercise also focused on enhancing accuracy, reliability, and survivability through the verification of multiple integrated sub-systems under realistic operational conditions.
The ISPR stated that senior officers from the Pakistan Army’s Rocket Force Command, along with scientists and engineers from the national development and research organizations, were present during the training launch. Their participation reflected close coordination between operational units and technical development institutions in advancing indigenous defense capabilities.
The successful training launch was witnessed and acknowledged at the highest national level. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu commended the achievement. They praised the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment of all personnel and institutions involved in the development and successful execution of the system.
The leadership emphasized that such advancements contribute significantly to strengthening national defense capability and ensuring operational preparedness in a rapidly evolving security environment.
