Pakistan Reaffirms Strategic Bond with Saudi Arabia, Highlights Haramain Commitment

Pakistan has reaffirmed its longstanding strategic relationship with Saudi Arabia, with the country’s military spokesperson highlighting the special nature of bilateral ties and Pakistan’s commitment towards the security of the Kingdom and the sanctity of Haramain Sharifain.

Responding to a question during a press briefing, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a deep and strategic relationship, adding that the two countries have maintained close cooperation over decades.

He said Pakistan’s relationship with Saudi Arabia carries a unique significance, adding that the security of Haramain Sharifain is closely linked with the security of Saudi Arabia.

The DG ISPR stated that Pakistan considers any threat to Saudi Arabia as a matter of concern, reiterating that the commitments between the two countries would be honored.

He described the Pakistan-Saudi relationship as extending beyond conventional diplomacy, encompassing strategic, security and historical dimensions.

The remarks came during a wider briefing in which the DG ISPR discussed national security challenges, terrorism, regional developments and Pakistan’s security outlook.

While responding to questions about Pakistan’s relations with Gulf partners, he also highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s relationship with the United Arab Emirates, describing ties with Gulf countries as significant for regional stability and cooperation.

The DG ISPR also addressed the broader regional security environment, including terrorism challenges and external factors affecting Pakistan’s security landscape.

He said Pakistan continues to pursue a policy based on national security, regional stability and cooperation with friendly countries.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically maintained close relations across defence, economic and diplomatic domains, with both sides repeatedly emphasizing the importance of their strategic partnership.
