The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a live weapon firing test of the “Taimur” cruise missile system, demonstrating enhanced operational readiness and precision strike capability, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In an official statement, ISPR confirmed that the test was carried out as part of routine operational validation and capability enhancement efforts. The exercise involved the successful launch of the “Taimur” cruise missile system, which is described as an air-launched anti-ship weapon system.
According to military officials, the test demonstrated the system’s precision targeting capability as well as the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in executing long-range maritime strike operations. The successful trial is being viewed as a significant step in strengthening the country’s naval defence and deterrence capabilities.
ISPR stated that the live firing exercise validated key technical parameters of the system, including accuracy, reliability, and combat readiness under operational conditions. The test reflects ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance the Pakistan Navy’s strategic and tactical capabilities in line with evolving maritime security requirements.
Officials further emphasized that such trials are part of continuous efforts to ensure preparedness in response to emerging regional maritime challenges and to maintain a credible defence posture at sea.
The successful completion of the test underscores Pakistan Navy’s focus on technological advancement, precision engagement systems, and sustained operational readiness.
