Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and their longstanding strategic partnership, as military and diplomatic leaders from both countries marked the 99th founding anniversary of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was attended by China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, the Chinese Defence Attaché, officials from the Chinese Embassy and senior officers of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Field Marshal congratulated the People’s Liberation Army on its 99th anniversary and paid tribute to its contributions to China’s national defence, economic development and global peace.
He said the friendship between Pakistan and China remained unique, time-tested and steadfast through every challenge, describing the armed forces of both countries as true partners bound by mutual trust, unwavering support and shared strategic interests.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan and China remain committed to promoting regional peace and stability while safeguarding their common strategic interests through enhanced defence cooperation and close coordination.
According to ISPR, the Chinese ambassador thanked Pakistan for hosting the commemorative event and praised the sacrifices and professional role of Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
He also reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Pakistan and reiterated Beijing’s commitment to further strengthening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.
The ceremony concluded with both sides expressing their resolve to deepen defence collaboration, expand military-to-military cooperation and further consolidate the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
