A Pakistan Army officer embraced martyrdom while four Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists were neutralized during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Razmak area of North Waziristan, security sources said.
According to the sources, the operation was launched after credible intelligence indicated the presence of Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists in the area. Acting on the information, security forces carried out a targeted raid on suspected terrorist hideouts.
During the ensuing exchange of fire, four Khwarij were neutralized. However, the operation claimed the life of a brave Pakistan Army officer, Major Ehsan, who fought courageously while leading his troops from the front and embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
A soldier, identified as Sepoy Zeeshan, sustained serious injuries during the firefight and was shifted for medical treatment.
Security sources said the operation dealt another blow to the operational network of Fitna al-Khwarij in North Waziristan, an area where security forces continue to conduct intelligence-led operations to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent militants from regrouping.
Following the encounter, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation to trace any remaining terrorists or their facilitators. The operation was continuing at the time of filing this report.
Officials reaffirmed that operations against Fitna al-Khwarij would continue until the complete elimination of terrorist networks, reiterating that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces further strengthen the national resolve to eradicate terrorism and restore lasting peace across the region.
