A large-scale counterterrorism operation in North Waziristan has resulted in the elimination of an estimated 25 to 28 terrorists, as security forces continued extensive clearance and sanitization efforts across multiple hostile zones, according to operational details emerging from the ground.
Security sources said at least 12 terrorist bodies had so far been recovered during ongoing operations, while additional bodies of 7 to 8 eliminated terrorists remained visible in difficult-to-access combat zones following heavy engagements involving multiple units operating in the area.
The operation, launched under an intensified clearance framework, involved coordinated actions by specialized combat formations, surveillance teams, and quick reaction units targeting terrorist positions and underground infrastructure in and around the Bobali village area.
According to field details, security personnel also apprehended two terrorists during the operation, while large quantities of explosives and improvised explosive devices continued to be discovered across the operational zone.
Officials confirmed that at least 11 improvised explosive devices had been detected and safely disposed of during the ongoing clearance phase, highlighting the scale of defensive preparations established by terrorist elements in the area.
Security teams completed the sanitization of Bobali village following intense search and clearance efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, hideouts, and movement corridors.
Operational sources further stated that a mosque being used as a terrorist command and operational center was scheduled for demolition as part of the continuing action against extremist infrastructure. Underground bunkers and fortified hideouts linked to terrorist activity in the area were also being systematically destroyed.
The latest operation once again underscores growing concerns regarding the use of civilian structures, including religious sites, by terrorist groups for operational cover, storage, and coordination purposes.
Security analysts say the recovery of explosive devices, fortified bunkers, and operational infrastructure points toward a deeply entrenched terrorist presence that had established layered defensive positions in the region.
The operation remains ongoing, with security forces continuing search, clearance, and area domination activities aimed at eliminating remaining terrorists and preventing regrouping attempts.
