Khawarij Launch Drone Attack on Gurguri Police Station and Gas Plant in Karak; Security Forces Foil Major Threat

Khawarij terrorists carried out a quadcopter drone attack targeting Gurguri Police Station and the Gurguri Gas Plant in Karak district, in a renewed attempt to strike at law enforcement and critical energy infrastructure, security sources confirmed.

According to initial reports, the Gurguri Police Station sustained partial structural damage as a result of the drone strike. However, security officials confirmed that the facility remains secure, fully operational, and under the control of law enforcement agencies. Prompt response by security personnel prevented further escalation and contained the impact of the attack.

The Gurguri Gas Plant, which was also targeted in the coordinated drone attempt, remained completely secure and operational. Authorities confirmed that no significant damage was caused to the energy installation, and all critical systems continue to function without disruption.

Immediately after the incident, security forces and law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation. Surveillance and aerial monitoring have been intensified across the region to track any remaining threats and prevent further hostile activity.

Officials stated that the use of quadcopter drones by Khawarij terrorists reflects a growing trend of employing modern and asymmetric tactics aimed at targeting sensitive infrastructure, including police establishments and strategic energy assets.

Despite the attempted attack, the situation remains fully under control, and no disruption to essential services has been reported. Security forces remain on high alert and continue to maintain a strong operational presence in the area.

Investigations have been launched to identify the network behind the attack, with evidence being collected from the site and technical analysis underway to determine the origin and specifications of the drones used. Authorities have reiterated their resolve to bring all perpetrators and facilitators to justice.

Security officials reaffirmed that safeguarding public institutions, critical infrastructure, and national energy assets remains a top priority, and that all necessary measures are being taken to counter evolving terrorist tactics.

The incident highlights the continuing security challenges posed by Khawarij elements and underscores the need for enhanced counter-drone capabilities and coordinated security responses to emerging threats.
