Terrorists belonging to Khawarij launched a coordinated attack aimed at capturing a Federal Constabulary (FC) checkpost in Hassan Khel, Peshawar. The assault was decisively repelled through swift and effective response by security personnel, resulting in the elimination of eight attackers.
According to security sources, the terrorists attempted to overrun the checkpost with the apparent objective of establishing control over the installation. However, the Federal Constabulary personnel stationed at the post engaged the attackers immediately and prevented the post from being seized.
A heavy exchange of fire ensued, during which eight Khawarij terrorists were neutralized on the spot. Reinforcement units from security forces were promptly dispatched to the area following reports of the attack, and the entire vicinity was swiftly cordoned off to prevent any further escalation.
During the intense confrontation, six police personnel embraced martyrdom while displaying exceptional courage and determination in the line of duty. A number of additional personnel are currently reported missing, and search and clearance operations are underway in the surrounding area.
Security forces have launched a comprehensive operation in the region to secure the area, locate any remaining attackers, and ensure the complete restoration of control. Aerial and ground surveillance has also been intensified as part of ongoing counterterrorism measures.
