Under the leadership of District Police Officer Karak, Mr. Imran Khan, the Karak Police in collaboration with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully conducted a large-scale joint Search and Strike Operation against terrorists and anti-social elements in the bordering mountainous regions of District Karak and Frontier Region Bannu.
The operation was carried out in the difficult and rugged mountainous areas of Tozi Khel Wazir, Dargah Shaheedan, Dargai and adjoining locations, which had been identified as potential safe havens and future hideouts for terrorist elements. The purpose of the operation was to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt militant movement and prevent anti-state elements from regrouping and carrying out activities aimed at destabilizing peace in the region.
A significant number of law enforcement personnel participated in the operation, including teams from the Rapid Response Force, Rescue 15 Squad, Elite Commandos, CTD units and other specialized police wings. Acting under a coordinated strategy, security forces established a complete cordon around the targeted areas and carried out an extensive search operation across remote and strategically sensitive mountainous terrain.
During the operation, several terrorist hideouts and shelters being used by militants were located, destroyed and set on fire. The destruction of these facilities was aimed at eliminating operational bases and restricting the movement and logistical capabilities of terrorist networks operating in the area.
According to police officials, terrorist elements fled across the bordering areas adjacent to District Karak after observing the tightening security cordon and advancing law enforcement teams. Authorities stated that these militants had been using the inaccessible mountainous terrain as temporary sanctuaries after planning and executing activities intended to disrupt law and order in District Karak and nearby areas, including attempts to target public interests and government installations.
Speaking on the occasion, District Police Officer Karak, Mr. Imran Khan, stated that the primary objective of the operation was to weaken terrorist networks, restrict their mobility and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
“The Karak Police, in coordination with all law enforcement agencies, remains fully committed to restoring and maintaining lasting peace in the district. Intelligence-based operations against terrorists and anti-state elements will continue to ensure the writ of the state and protect the public from all forms of militancy and criminal activity,” he said.
The District Police Officer further emphasized that law enforcement agencies are utilizing all available resources and operational capabilities to eliminate elements threatening public peace and to ensure a secure and stable environment for the people of the region.
The successful execution of the operation reflects the continued resolve, professionalism and operational readiness of police and security institutions in the fight against terrorism and in maintaining peace and stability across the district.
