Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that India’s professional military has been compromised by political considerations, alleging that the institution has been increasingly drawn into political narratives and non-professional roles.
Addressing a media briefing, the DG ISPR said that India’s military posture reflects growing politicization, adding that certain symbolic and rhetorical choices in Indian discourse reflect an attempt to project aggression rather than professionalism. He remarked that Pakistan is not referring to past events but is focused on present and future challenges in the regional security environment.
He stated that India continues to rely on proxy networks, asserting that such practices are not new and remain an ongoing element of its regional strategy.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further alleged that civilians, including women and children, have been affected by violence linked to destabilizing activities in the region. He reiterated that Pakistan’s Armed Forces operate strictly against hostile armed elements, maintaining operational transparency and professionalism in their actions.
He also stated that Afghanistan’s territory has repeatedly been used for cross-border attacks against Pakistan, alleging the presence and facilitation of hostile elements operating under external influence. He said that such conditions continue to pose security challenges along the border regions.
Referring to counterterrorism efforts, the DG ISPR noted that following recent operations, including Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, there has been a noticeable decline in terrorist incidents, attributing this to sustained intelligence-based operations and coordinated security efforts across multiple agencies.
He questioned the ideological justification of violent actions carried out under the guise of religious or political motives, stating that such interpretations fall outside any legitimate framework and are widely rejected by mainstream religious scholarship.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further stated that Pakistan’s adversaries remain preoccupied with its internal stability and leadership, emphasizing that such perceptions reflect strategic frustration rather than factual reality.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains fully committed to counterterrorism operations, regional stability, and safeguarding its national security interests against all forms of internal and external threats.
The DG ISPR concluded by reiterating that Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain vigilant, professionally prepared, and fully capable of responding to any security challenge across all domains of modern warfare.
