Security Forces and police have demolished the house of a highly wanted terrorist commander during a joint operation in the Zargari area of Hangu district, striking at a terrorist network accused of carrying out multiple attacks in the region.

According to police, the structure belonged to terrorist commander Irfan alias Lezri, who is wanted in connection with several terrorist attacks, including an attack targeting the DPO and the Khazina Banda incident.

The operation forms part of intensified counterterrorism efforts in Hangu aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their local support infrastructure and denying wanted terrorists places from which to plan or facilitate attacks.

The demolition of the terrorist commander’s residence also underscores the growing emphasis on targeting not only terrorists involved directly in attacks but also the infrastructure and safe locations associated with them.

Security and police personnel carried out the operation after identifying the property as being linked to the wanted terrorist. The action was conducted as part of continuing efforts to pursue terrorists involved in attacks against law-enforcement personnel and civilians.

Officials said operations against terrorist networks and their facilitators would continue, with security personnel maintaining heightened vigilance across Hangu and adjoining areas.

The latest action highlights the sustained counterterrorism pressure being maintained across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where intelligence-based operations and targeted actions are being used to dismantle terrorist networks before they can re-establish operational footholds.
