Field Marshal Asim Munir Holds Talks with Lebanese Army Chief, Pledges Stronger Defence Ties

Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held a high-level meeting with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haikal, at the General Headquarters (GHQ), reaffirming the strong and longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Lebanon and exploring new avenues for enhanced defence cooperation and military collaboration.

Upon his arrival at GHQ, General Rodolphe Haikal was accorded a warm welcome and presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, reflecting the deep mutual respect and cordial relations shared by the armed forces of both countries.

During the meeting, the two military leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, defence cooperation, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral military relations. The discussions underscored the importance of sustained engagement between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon in addressing emerging security challenges and contributing to regional and international peace.

The talks focused on expanding professional military exchanges, enhancing training cooperation, and strengthening institutional linkages between the armed forces of both countries. General Rodolphe Haikal lauded the professionalism, operational excellence, and combat capabilities of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
