Eight Khawarij Killed, Including Senior Commander, as North Waziristan Operation Unfolds in Darpakhel Area

Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Darpakhel area of North Waziristan, resulting in the killing of eight individuals from Fitna-al-Khawarij, including a senior commander linked to an outlawed group.

The operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed elements in the area. Officials stated that the action was conducted in a precise and coordinated manner, targeting members allegedly associated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group (HGB), a banned organization.

Among those killed was a senior figure identified by sources as Abbasin, also known by the alias “Kenar,” described as a key commander within the group. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the identities of the remaining individuals.

Security officials said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks operating in the region, which has long been considered sensitive due to the presence of multiple armed groups. No casualties among security personnel were reported. Clearance operations in the area are continuing to ensure the absence of any remaining threats.
