Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), emphasized the critical need for all regional nations to adopt a responsible role in eliminating terrorism, underscoring Pakistan’s continued efforts to safeguard national and regional security.
Speaking about Pakistan’s strategic operations during and after Operation Haq, which commenced in May 2025 and extended through October 2025, DG ISPR stated that Pakistan undertook a series of proactive measures under its comprehensive defense strategy. These actions included identifying and targeting terrorist networks and their supporting infrastructures based in Afghanistan, effectively neutralizing threats before they could affect Pakistan’s security.
“Pakistan has consistently maintained that terrorism within its borders is often linked to external networks, some of which exploit the territory of neighboring countries,” DG ISPR Chaudhry said. “Our principled stance has always been clear: no country’s land should be used against another sovereign state. To resolve this challenge, Pakistan has engaged in persistent dialogue, negotiation, and diplomatic outreach.”
He further highlighted tangible improvements in border management and cross-border movement facilitation, achieved through coordinated security measures. “Through targeted actions against terrorist networks, Pakistan has not only enhanced internal security but has also contributed to stabilizing the broader region. Our decisive operations during Operation Haq significantly shifted the regional power balance, compelling adversaries to reconsider their strategies,” he added.
DG ISPR Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s call for collective responsibility in the fight against terrorism. “Eliminating terrorism is a shared responsibility, requiring all regional nations to act responsibly and cooperatively. Pakistan has consistently advocated for peace, stability, and collaboration across the region. Conversely, extremist narratives and controversial affiliations by certain actors continue to pose a threat to regional security and harmony,” he emphasized.
He concluded by underlining Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty while promoting regional stability: “Pakistan remains resolute in safeguarding its borders, citizens, and interests, while championing a vision of peace, cooperation, and shared responsibility in South Asia.”
