A tragic terrorist incident occurred in the Fakirni area of District Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where an explosion targeted a Police armoured vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Fareed and Constable Akhtar Zaman, while several other police personnel sustained injuries.
According to initial reports, the powerful explosion occurred in close proximity to the Police armoured vehicle during its movement through the area. The blast caused extensive damage to the vehicle and inflicted multiple casualties among the police personnel on board.
Police officials confirmed that ASI Fareed and Constable Akhtar Zaman embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while courageously serving the nation. Several injured personnel were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. Health authorities have stated that every effort is being made to provide the best possible care to the wounded officers.
The attack once again underscores the continuing threat posed by extremist elements seeking to undermine peace, security, and the rule of law in Pakistan.
