An explosion destroyed a Government Girls Primary School in the Kamdabak area of the Jandola subdivision in Tank District, causing extensive structural damage to the building, according to official and local sources.
Preliminary reports indicate that unidentified armed elements planted and detonated explosives at the school premises during the night, resulting in the partial collapse of the structure. No casualties were reported in the incident as the facility was not in operation at the time.
Security and administrative officials confirmed that the attack appears to be a deliberate act targeting the region’s educational infrastructure. A detailed assessment of the damage has been initiated, while law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Authorities noted with concern that this incident marks the eighth reported attack on a school in the broader region since the beginning of 2026, highlighting a continuing pattern of violence against educational institutions.
Local officials strongly condemned the destruction of the school, calling it an attack on the future of children and a direct attempt to undermine access to education, particularly for girls in the area. They reiterated that such acts cannot deter the government’s commitment to expanding educational facilities and ensuring safe learning environments.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to trace the perpetrators. Intelligence-based operations are also being expanded in the surrounding region as part of ongoing efforts to prevent further attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Officials emphasized that targeting schools represents a serious violation of national laws and international norms, and reaffirmed the resolve of state institutions to bring those responsible to justice.
