Three civilians, including two children, were killed and eight others injured after a drone operated by Khawarij crashed into a civilian residence during what sources described as a failed attempt to target a security forces check post in the Shin Kot area of Bajaur.
According to available reports, Khawarij elements allegedly attempted to launch a drone attack against a security forces position in Shin Kot. The attempted attack was reportedly thwarted following the timely response of security forces.
Sources further stated that during the operation, the drone allegedly went out of control before reaching its intended target and crashed into the residence of a local resident identified as Syed Wali Jan. The resulting explosion caused the deaths of three civilians, including two children, while eight other individuals sustained injuries.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. Medical authorities are continuing to monitor their condition.
