Another Major Blow to Fitna al-Khawarij: Security Forces Eliminate 10 in IBOs in Bannu

Security Forces have delivered another significant blow to Fitna al-Khawarij in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, conducting a series of intelligence-based operations that resulted in the killing of 10 Khawarij terrorists, injuries to 16 others, and the destruction of multiple terrorist hideouts.

The coordinated operations were launched on the basis of actionable intelligence provided through Markhor, enabling security forces to identify and target terrorist positions across several locations in the Bannu area.

During the operations, security forces effectively engaged multiple Khawarij positions and dismantled hideouts being used by the terrorists to facilitate their activities. The precision and coordination of the operations significantly disrupted the terrorists’ ability to operate and move between their positions.

According to operational details, multiple Khawarij terrorists were effectively targeted through quad-copter-enabled operations, resulting in significant casualties among the terrorist elements. The use of intelligence-led surveillance and precision engagement enabled security forces to track terrorist movements and strike their positions while maintaining operational control of the area.

In one particularly sensitive development, security forces identified a madrassa being used by the Khawarij as a terrorist hideout. Recognizing the presence of civilians and prioritizing their safety, security forces first ensured that the madrassa was cleared of civilians before engaging the terrorists occupying the location. After the evacuation had been completed, the Khawarij opened fire from the madrassa. Security forces responded decisively, engaging the terrorists through controlled fire as well as quad-copter operations.

The terrorist position was subsequently neutralized, preventing the militants from continuing to use the location as a base for their activities.

The operations continued as security forces pursued terrorist elements attempting to conceal themselves in different locations. During subsequent engagements, several Khawarij terrorists hiding beneath trees were successfully identified and targeted through quad-copter surveillance and precision engagement. In another operation, terrorists attempting to move on a motorcycle were also detected and effectively targeted through quad-copter capabilities. The successful tracking of terrorists despite their attempts to conceal themselves or move covertly demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-driven surveillance and modern aerial capabilities in counter-terrorism operations.

According to the latest operational assessment, 10 Khawarij terrorists have been killed and 16 others injured during the ongoing Bannu operations. Several terrorist hideouts have also been destroyed, while security forces have recovered weapons, ammunition and other military-related material from the targeted locations. The destruction of these hideouts is expected to significantly disrupt the terrorists’ operational infrastructure and their ability to use the area for planning, staging or supporting further terrorist activities.

Security forces demonstrated particular caution during the operation involving the madrassa, ensuring that civilians were evacuated before the terrorist position was engaged. The incident underscores the operational challenge posed by terrorist groups that deliberately exploit civilian or community locations for concealment and use such premises as bases for armed activity. Despite these challenges, security forces maintained their focus on protecting innocent civilians while taking decisive action against the terrorists responsible for violence and instability.

The latest operations form part of the ongoing efforts by Pakistan’s security forces to identify, disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks operating in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The successful intelligence-based actions in Bannu have once again demonstrated the importance of timely intelligence, persistent surveillance, precision capabilities and coordinated ground operations in countering terrorist threats.

Security forces remain fully committed to eliminating terrorist elements, dismantling their infrastructure and preventing them from using populated areas or difficult terrain to establish safe havens. The operations also reinforce the resolve of Pakistan’s security institutions to pursue terrorists wherever they attempt to establish their presence.

Security forces will continue to conduct intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and other terrorist elements until the threat posed to the security and safety of the people is effectively neutralized.
