Afghan Taliban Forced To Abandon Posts As Pakistan Army Delivers Devastating Response In Angoor Adda

The Pakistan Army has delivered a strong, decisive, and effective response to unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban regime in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, destroying multiple Taliban positions and compelling their personnel to abandon their posts and flee, according to security sources.

The retaliatory action was initiated in response to hostile firing and repeated acts of aggression originating from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security sources confirmed that multiple positions belonging to the Afghan Taliban regime were effectively targeted and destroyed during the operation. Reports also indicate that several Afghan Taliban personnel were killed as a result of the engagement.

The swift and effective response demonstrates the resolve, operational preparedness, and professional capabilities of Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity, defending its population, and responding firmly to any threat against national security.

Security sources reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to defending the motherland and protecting its citizens. They emphasized that there would be no compromise whatsoever on Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, or national security.

The latest confrontation follows an incident on the night of 27 October, when the Afghan Taliban regime allegedly resorted to unprovoked mortar and small-arms fire targeting Angoor Adda Bazaar and nearby civilian residential areas in South Waziristan.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of South Waziristan, the hostile firing resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to five other members of the same family after a mortar shell struck a residential house.

The incident also caused damage to several commercial establishments and shops in the local bazaar, further intensifying concerns over the safety and security of the civilian population residing in the border region.

The deliberate or indiscriminate targeting of civilian settlements constitutes a grave threat to the lives and property of innocent people. The attack has reportedly generated widespread anger and resentment among the local population, who have expressed serious concern over the recurring security threats and the targeting of residential areas.

Pakistan maintains that the protection of civilian lives remains a fundamental priority and that any hostile action endangering innocent citizens will be viewed with utmost seriousness.

The recent incident in Angoor Adda is part of a broader pattern of hostile activities and attempted cross-border infiltrations witnessed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in recent weeks.

Pakistan’s security forces have successfully thwarted multiple infiltration attempts by Fitna al-Khawarij and other hostile elements, demonstrating heightened vigilance and operational effectiveness along the country’s western frontier.

On 11 October, security forces successfully foiled an attempted infiltration by Fitna al-Khawarij near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani security forces responded effectively to the infiltration attempt, eliminating 12 militants.

During the engagement, firing was also reported from Afghan Taliban positions in support of the infiltrating elements. In the exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman embraced martyrdom while courageously defending the country’s borders.

His supreme sacrifice reflects the unwavering commitment and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and security. Earlier, on 25 September, Pakistan’s law enforcement and security agencies successfully thwarted an act of aggression and an attempted cross-border infiltration by the Afghan Taliban in the Chaman sector along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to security sources, Afghan Taliban personnel initiated provocative and unprovoked firing, which was met with an immediate, effective, and forceful response from Pakistani security forces.

Multiple Afghan Taliban positions were subsequently targeted using quadcopters and mortar fire. Security sources reported that the operation resulted in multiple casualties among Afghan Taliban personnel and effectively neutralized the hostile threat.

These successive incidents underscore the persistent security challenges confronting Pakistan along its western border and highlight the importance of maintaining constant vigilance against cross-border aggression, militant infiltration, and activities threatening regional stability.

Pakistan has consistently demonstrated its commitment to regional peace, stability, and responsible border management. However, this commitment must not be misconstrued as a willingness to tolerate aggression, attacks on civilians, or activities that threaten the country’s territorial integrity.

The repeated targeting of civilian settlements, support for cross-border infiltration, and provocative firing from positions across the border raise serious questions regarding the Afghan Taliban regime’s responsibility to prevent the use of Afghan territory and its security infrastructure for activities directed against Pakistan.

Pakistan expects the Afghan Taliban authorities to exercise effective control over their territory, prevent hostile elements from operating against Pakistan, and ensure that cross-border incidents do not endanger innocent civilian populations.

The security of Pakistan’s citizens, particularly those living in vulnerable border communities, remains non-negotiable.

The Pakistan Army and other security agencies will continue to maintain the highest level of operational readiness and respond decisively, proportionately, and effectively to any aggression or threat to national security.

Pakistan’s message is unequivocal: its sovereignty is inviolable, its territorial integrity is non-negotiable, and its armed forces possess the resolve and capability to defend every inch of the motherland.
