19 Terror Cases, Rs 2.5m Bounty: Key Fitna al-Khawarij Commander Killed in Qila Saifullah

Security forces, acting on credible intelligence and sustained surveillance, have eliminated a key commander of Fitna al-Khawarij, Adil Shah alias Darwaish, in an intelligence-based operation conducted in the Nasai area of Qila Saifullah district during the night of 23–24 October.

The operation was carried out following more than two months of continuous intelligence monitoring and the verification of actionable information regarding the militant’s presence and activities. The successful operation represents a significant setback to efforts by Fitna al-Khawarij to expand its operational footprint and establish a sustained terrorist network in northern Balochistan.

Adil Shah was reportedly a key figure responsible for managing the group’s financial affairs and facilitating the movement of militants from Afghanistan into Pakistan through various routes. He was also involved in efforts to establish a coordinated network of local militants and fighters arriving from Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the areas of Sherani, Zhob and Shaban. The network was allegedly intended to strengthen the group’s operational capabilities and facilitate attacks against security forces.

The eliminated commander was wanted in connection with 19 terrorism-related cases, while the provincial government had announced a bounty of Rs 2.5 million for information leading to his capture.

The operation underscores the effectiveness of sustained intelligence gathering, precise planning and coordinated counterterrorism efforts in identifying and dismantling militant networks. It has dealt a significant blow to Fitna al-Khawarij’s attempts to consolidate its presence, facilitate cross-border movement and intensify terrorist activities in northern Balochistan.

Security forces remain committed to pursuing terrorist elements, dismantling their support and facilitation networks, and preventing them from threatening the peace and security of the region. Such operations will continue with determination until terrorist networks and their enabling infrastructure are effectively neutralised.

The successful operation reaffirms the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to deny terrorist organisations any space to operate, regroup or expand their networks. Through sustained vigilance, credible intelligence and decisive action, security forces will continue their efforts to safeguard the lives of citizens and preserve peace and stability across Balochistan.
