Man Gunned Down in Suspected Targeted Attack in Razmak Bazaar

A man was shot dead in a suspected targeted killing in Razmak Bazaar, North Waziristan, sparking concerns over growing insecurity in the region.

Police said the victim, identified as Badshah Zaar son of Rehman, was a native of Spinkamar, Malik Shahi area of Makin tehsil in South Waziristan. He had been working as a cobbler in Razmak Bazaar for the past year. His body was shifted to Category-D Hospital Razmak for postmortem.

Family members alleged that the killing stemmed from a personal enmity, though police have yet to confirm the motive. “We are investigating the incident from all angles,” an official at Razmak Police Station said, adding that a case had been registered and further inquiry was underway.

The incident has once again raised alarm over targeted killings in the volatile tribal district, where similar acts of violence have been reported in recent months.
