In a high-stakes joint press conference, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and military spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that Indian armed drones attempted to strike military targets in Lahore — but were intercepted and destroyed before causing any damage.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, the officials made it clear that Pakistan has exercised strategic restraint, avoiding any military action on Indian civilian areas — specifically denying any operations inside Indian Punjab.

“Our forces successfully neutralized multiple armed drones that violated Pakistani airspace,” said DG ISPR General Ahmed Sharif. “These drones attempted to target military installations in Lahore but failed. All attacks were thwarted with no damage incurred.”

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains a responsible state but reserves the right to respond decisively to Indian aggression.

“Pakistan will retaliate at a time and place of its choosing,” Ishaq Dar stated. “This is not a moment for panic. The nation should remain calm. Our armed forces are fully prepared to defend every inch of our territory.”

In a striking revelation, the military spokesperson also confirmed that five Indian fighter jets were shot down by Pakistani forces, further escalating tensions between the two nuclear neighbours.

The remarks come amid rising hostilities and a flurry of cross-border accusations. While calls for de-escalation have emerged from international stakeholders, Pakistani leadership signalled that strategic patience has limits.

As both sides brace for potential escalation, the region — and the world — watches closely.
