Security Forces Deal Devastating Blow to Terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,396 Militants Killed in 16-Month Operations

Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  have successfully carried out a series of intense and effective operations between January 1, 2024, and April 23, 2025, leading to the elimination of 1,396 terrorists, including 168 high-profile and most-wanted militants. These operations, executed through coordinated ground and air assaults, were based on precise intelligence, crippling terrorist networks and neutralizing their operational capabilities.

The operations, which targeted key militant strongholds, resulted in the deaths of 35 prominent terrorists in Swat, Dir, Katlang, Mardan, and Khyber. Among them were notorious militants such as Aziz Rehman alias Qari Ismail, Saleem alias Rubani, and Makhlooq. Their deaths have significantly improved the security situation in these regions.

In the areas of Kurram, Karak, and Taal, 20 important terrorists were killed, including Rehanullah alias Muntazir Ashna, Abu Zar alias Saddam, and Mohammad Irfan. These militants had been involved in several major attacks and had long been on the security forces’ radar.

In South Waziristan, security forces achieved the largest success, neutralizing 82 key militants. The deaths of key commanders such as Zabiullah alias Zikran and Khan Mohammad Khori have dealt a heavy blow to militant activities in the area.

The operations also targeted the terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and Lakki Marwat, where high-profile militants Shireen, Shafiullah, and Saqib Gundapur were killed. Their elimination has notably reduced the threat of terrorism in the southern districts.

Additionally, in North Waziristan, security forces took down 30 major insurgents, including Zafaruddin alias Makhlooq, Hudaifa alias Usman, and Ahmed Shah alias Intizar, all of whom were involved in destabilizing the region with terrorist activities.

Security officials have confirmed that these successful operations have inflicted severe damage on terrorist organizations and led to a significant improvement in the overall law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The region has witnessed remarkable progress in restoring peace, and the security forces remain committed to continuing their efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure lasting stability.
