Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that credible intelligence confirms India is arming the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) to carry out terrorist attacks across Pakistan.
Speaking on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, the defence minister stated that India is providing weapons to these outlawed groups with the aim of sparking a wave of terrorism not only in Punjab and Sindh but throughout the country.
Referring to the recent Pahalgam attack, Khawaja Asif said the group being named is entirely unknown. He noted that similar fictitious outfits were mentioned in the Pulwama attack and the targeted killings of Sikhs. “These are Indian intelligence operatives responsible for the killings,” he said. “We will remain on high alert from Karachi to Gilgit.”
In a separate interview with British media, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan would deliver a forceful response to any Indian aggression. “The world must be concerned about tensions between two nuclear-armed nations,” he warned. “Any misadventure by India will be met with full retaliation, and a clash between the two countries could lead to disastrous consequences.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, speaking on the same Geo News programme, said that if India has any evidence related to the Pahalgam incident, it should be shared with Pakistan. “We are open-minded and willing to examine it,” he said.
Dar added that Pakistan possesses substantial evidence of RAW’s interference in Balochistan. “We are fully prepared on political and diplomatic fronts. We have already taken countermeasures against India’s actions. If India attempts any adventurism, our armed forces are ready. It would be wiser for India not to pursue any miscalculation,” he said.
