KHARIAN – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has commended the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to character, courage, and competence, highlighting its exemplary role in the fight against terrorism.
He expressed these views as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 8th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) competition, held from April 14 to 18 at Kharian Garrison. The event was hosted by the Pakistan Army.
General Munir stated that exercises like PATS serve as excellent platforms for mutual learning, helping to integrate tactical skills with modern-day combat needs while promoting teamwork. He emphasised that the Pakistan Army embodies top military qualities proven through its performance on the battlefield.
According to ISPR, the 60-hour intense patrolling exercise aimed to promote the exchange of combat skills and professional experiences among participants to enhance operational capabilities. Seven teams from the Pakistan Army, one from the Navy, and teams from 15 friendly nations including China, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Sri Lanka took part.
Observers from countries like Germany, Egypt, Kenya, and Thailand attended the event, acknowledging the high standards and excellent arrangements of the exercise.
General Munir lauded the physical and mental endurance, professionalism, and spirit of all participating teams. He also awarded prizes to top performers, while international observers and defence attachés praised the professionalism and organisation of the competition.
