Afghan Taliban forces allegedly resorted to unprovoked firing and a border violation along the Pak-Afghan border in the Kurram Sector, targeting Pakistani civilian areas as well as military positions with heavy weapons and mortar fire.
According to the information available, the firing originated from positions located in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Paktia provinces, where Afghan Taliban elements employed mortars and other heavy weapons against targets across the border.
The attack prompted an immediate and forceful response from the Pakistan Army, whose personnel responded with a combination of small arms, heavy weapons, and artillery fire.
