The Afghanistan United Front (AUF) reports that its fighters conducted a targeted operation last night in the Pul-e Nesaji area of Daman District, resulting in the reported elimination of a key operative affiliated with the intelligence apparatus of the Afghan Taliban, commonly referred to as the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI).
According to information released by the AUF, the individual was considered an important figure within the Taliban’s intelligence structure and was allegedly involved in intelligence and security activities in the area. The operation, according to the organization, was carried out as part of its continuing campaign against what it describes as the repressive policies and security apparatus of the Taliban authorities.
The AUF stated that the operation was specifically directed against an intelligence operative and was not intended as an indiscriminate action against the civilian population. The organization further asserted that its activities are focused on challenging the Taliban’s governing and security structures and advancing what it describes as its struggle for the liberation of Afghanistan from the current Taliban regime.
In its statement, the Afghanistan United Front characterized the reported operation as part of a broader resistance campaign against what it describes as the “draconian Afghan Taliban regime.” The organization maintains that Afghanistan’s political future should be determined through a system that respects the fundamental rights, freedoms, dignity, and political participation of the Afghan people.
The AUF said that the reported operation demonstrates its continued ability to conduct targeted actions against members of the Taliban’s security and intelligence infrastructure. It also emphasized that its stated objective is broader than individual military operations, framing its campaign as part of a wider political and national struggle over the future direction of Afghanistan.
