The Afghan Liberation Front has announced a missile attack targeting Taliban military facilities and training centres at Bagram Air Base, reporting casualties and damage among Taliban forces.

In a statement, the front said the attack was carried out on Thursday evening, October 22, following intelligence gathering. Citing its contacts at the military base, it claimed that more than 10 Taliban personnel were killed or wounded in the strike.

The group said its fighters suffered no casualties and were moved to a safe location after the operation.

The Taliban administration has not issued an official response to the attack.

A video released by the front purportedly shows the nighttime missile launch and subsequent explosion at the base.

The attack comes amid renewed armed activity by anti-Taliban groups across Afghanistan. Around two months ago, the Afghan Liberation Front announced that its campaign against the Taliban had shifted from guerrilla-style attacks towards direct confrontations.

In recent months, the group has reported clashes with Taliban forces in Zibak district of Badakhshan, Kamdesh district of Nuristan, and several areas of Kunar province. It has also announced the capture of positions in some locations.

The latest reported strike on Bagram Air Base, a strategically significant military installation, highlights the continuing security challenges facing the Taliban administration. However, the reported casualties and damage have not been independently verified.
