Pakistan SCO Summit 2026

Four passengers were  abducted following an armed interception of a civilian vehicle on the Quetta–Karachi Highway in the Rudenjo Jatakabad area, according to initial reports.

Preliminary information suggests that armed motorcyclists intercepted an Alto car travelling along the highway and forcibly took four passengers from the vehicle. The assailants reportedly seized control of the situation before transporting the passengers to an undisclosed location.

According to the initial accounts, the attackers poured petrol over the vehicle and set it on fire after removing the passengers. The incident reportedly left the vehicle engulfed in flames at the scene, while the abducted individuals were taken away by the attackers. The assailants have reportedly been identified as operatives of Fitna al-Hindustan.

The reported abduction has raised serious concerns over the security of civilians travelling on the Quetta–Karachi Highway, one of the region’s major road links. The reported interception of a private vehicle by armed individuals highlights the vulnerability of travellers in areas where security threats remain a concern.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the identities of the passengers, the exact number and identity of the attackers, and the present whereabouts of the abducted individuals, have not yet been independently verified.

Relevant authorities are expected to investigate the incident, examine evidence from the scene, and undertake efforts to trace and safely recover the four passengers. One of the most serious aspects of the reported incident is the alleged burning of the passengers’ vehicle. Initial reports state that the attackers poured petrol over the Alto car and deliberately set it on fire before leaving the area with the passengers.

The burned vehicle may provide investigators with important evidence concerning the sequence of events and the circumstances of the attack. Authorities are expected to secure and examine the scene as part of the investigation.

The immediate priority remains the safe recovery of all four abducted passengers. Their families and communities are awaiting verified information regarding their whereabouts and condition. Security and law-enforcement agencies are expected to intensify efforts to establish the movements of the perpetrators and determine where the passengers were taken. Any available information that could assist authorities in locating the abducted individuals may prove critical to the investigation and recovery operation.

Authorities are also expected to assess the wider security situation along the affected stretch of the highway and consider appropriate measures to enhance the protection of civilian traffic.
