Security forces have neutralized five terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during a high-tempo, intelligence-driven operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The operation was conducted on August 10 as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign against foreign-sponsored terrorist networks operating in Balochistan and other parts of the country.
According to ISPR, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists during the intelligence-based operation and neutralized five hostile elements. The operation was launched on the basis of actionable intelligence regarding the presence and activities of the terrorist group in the area.
Following the successful engagement, security personnel recovered and destroyed a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the operation site.
The recovery of IEDs is particularly significant as such devices remain a major threat to civilians, security personnel and law-enforcement teams operating in areas affected by terrorism. Their destruction also prevented the recovered explosives and other material from being used in future attacks.
Security forces subsequently conducted sanitization operations in the surrounding area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure that no other terrorist elements or explosive material remained concealed in the vicinity.
The operation forms part of Pakistan’s broader and sustained campaign against foreign-sponsored terrorism, with security forces and law-enforcement agencies maintaining pressure on terrorist networks through intelligence-based operations.
The campaign is being conducted under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, with the stated objective of dismantling the infrastructure and networks of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across the country.
The latest operation in Panjgur comes amid continued security efforts in Balochistan, where terrorist organizations have attempted to exploit remote terrain and cross-border support to target security personnel, civilians and critical infrastructure.
Security forces have reiterated that counterterrorism operations will continue at full pace until the threat posed by foreign-sponsored terrorist networks is eliminated and lasting peace and stability are restored.
The successful Panjgur operation also underscores the importance of timely intelligence, rapid deployment and coordinated sanitization efforts in disrupting terrorist cells before they can execute attacks.
Authorities maintain that the campaign against terrorism will continue without let-up, with security forces and law-enforcement agencies determined to deny terrorist networks the space and resources required to operate inside Pakistan.
