Security forces eliminated one Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK) terrorist and wounded several others during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bara tehsil of Khyber district, security sources said.

According to sources, the operation was launched after intelligence reports regarding the presence of Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists in the area. As security forces moved in to clear the suspected hideout, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an intense exchange.

During the operation, one terrorist was neutralized, while several of his accomplices were injured. However, some of the wounded terrorists are believed to have escaped by taking advantage of the rugged terrain, prompting security forces to launch a search and clearance operation in the surrounding area.

One soldier was injured during the exchange of fire and was shifted to a medical facility for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.

Security forces continued sanitization efforts in and around the operation site to trace the fleeing terrorists and ensure that no militant presence remains in the area. Intelligence-based operations are continuing across Khyber district as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Fitna al-Khwarij networks and deny them any operational space.

Officials reiterated that operations against terrorist elements will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism and the restoration of lasting peace in the region.
