An explosion occurred at the Malkhana (storage facility) located near the room of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) Unit In-Charge, Inayatullah alias “Tiger,” at the Dera Ismail Khan Police Lines.
According to initial reports, the incident took place after an explosion occurred inside the Malkhana, following which hand grenades stored inside the facility also detonated, resulting in a series of secondary blasts.
The intensity of the explosions caused significant structural damage to the nearby area. The walls and roof of the room belonging to the Bomb Disposal Squad In-Charge collapsed due to the force of the blast.
As a result of the incident, Inayatullah alias “Tiger” sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. He is currently receiving necessary medical attention.
Relevant security and police teams promptly reached the site and initiated necessary safety measures. The area was secured, and further investigation into the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
Authorities are assessing the situation, while technical teams are examining the site to determine the exact nature of the explosion and the factors that led to the incident.
