Security forces eliminated two terrorists during an operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district after intercepting suspicious motorcycle-borne terrorists, recovering a significant cache of weapons, explosives, and communication equipment, security sources said.
According to the sources, security personnel spotted the movement of armed terrorists travelling on motorcycles in the area and swiftly launched an operation to intercept them. As the forces closed in, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire.
During the operation, two terrorists were eliminated, while several of their accomplices, believed to have sustained injuries, managed to flee under the cover of the rugged terrain. Security forces immediately launched a search and clearance operation to track down the fleeing terrorists and ensure the area is fully secured.
During the operation, security forces recovered a substantial quantity of terrorist equipment, including four IED fuses, an IED remote-control device, five rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) rockets, four RPG fuses, 20 meters of detonator cord, hand grenades, Motorola walkie-talkies, mobile phones, walkie-talkie chargers, and motorcycles used by the terrorists.
Officials said the recovered explosives and military-grade equipment indicate that the terrorists were planning a major act of sabotage or an attack targeting security forces or civilians. The timely action by security personnel is believed to have thwarted the plot before it could be executed.
The latest operation comes amid sustained intelligence-based counterterrorism operations across Balochistan. In recent days, security forces have carried out a series of successful operations against terrorist networks in the province, eliminating dozens of terrorists and recovering large quantities of arms and explosives as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle their operational infrastructure and restore lasting peace.
