Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attempt to establish an illegal blockade in the Kalatak area of Balochistan’s Kech district, eliminating four terrorists during a swift response operation, according to security sources.
The terrorists had reportedly attempted to block a key route in the area in an effort to disrupt civilian movement and create fear among local residents. Security forces responded immediately after receiving intelligence about the movement of armed terrorists, engaging them before they could consolidate their positions.
During the ensuing exchange of fire, four terrorists were eliminated, while the remaining suspects fled towards nearby rugged terrain. A search and clearance operation is continuing in and around the area to trace any fleeing terrorists, eliminate remaining threats, and ensure the complete restoration of security.
Officials said security forces remain committed to preventing terrorist groups from disrupting peace and normal life in Balochistan. The operation is being carried out with caution due to the difficult terrain, while efforts are underway to ensure that no terrorist elements remain hidden in the area.
The latest operation comes amid an intensified nationwide counterterrorism campaign. Earlier, security forces carried out successful intelligence-based operations in Khyber District and Nushki, eliminating 32 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, according to the military’s media wing. In another recent intelligence-based operation in Khuzdar, two Fitna al-Hindustan operatives were neutralized, thwarting what officials described as terrorist plans targeting peace and stability.
Security analysts say repeated attempts by terrorist groups to establish temporary road blockades in remote parts of Balochistan are aimed at intimidating local populations, disrupting transportation, and projecting a false sense of control. However, sustained intelligence-based operations and rapid responses by security forces have continued to frustrate such attempts, significantly limiting the operational space available to terrorist networks across the province.
