ISKP and TTP Fitna al-Khawarij Factions Clash in Orakzai; Five Killed

At least five members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed and several others sustained injuries during an armed confrontation between rival groups in the upper areas of Orakzai district, according to local police on Monday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Shaukat Ali stated that the exchange of fire occurred in the Kohi Kallay, Mamo Cheena, and Yakh Kando areas. The clash reportedly involved groups led by Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) commander Sadiq Yar Orakzai and banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Sajid.

According to preliminary reports, five members of Fitna al-Khawarij, including TTP Kazim Group commander Zulqarnain, were killed during the intense exchange of fire. Several other members of the rival groups were also reported injured, although the exact number of casualties remains under verification.

Law enforcement agencies responded promptly following reports of the incident and continue to monitor the security situation in the affected areas. Police, in coordination with other relevant security and intelligence agencies, have initiated a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the clash, verify casualty figures, and assess any potential implications for the overall security environment in the district.
