Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected the Afghan Taliban’s account of the Angoor Adda incident, describing it as misleading and contrary to the facts, and accusing Afghan Taliban forces of targeting civilians inside Pakistani territory.

According to the ministry, Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked fire and shelled Pakistani territory with mortars, targeting civilians in the area. The statement linked the action to what it described as a pattern directed by India and carried out through proxy elements.

Pakistan’s security forces responded immediately, destroying seven Afghan Taliban posts and inflicting heavy casualties and material losses on the opposing forces, the ministry said.

The ministry further accused the Afghan Taliban regime of presenting a fabricated narrative to mislead its own population about the incident.

The latest exchange of accusations underscores continuing tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where cross-border firing and disputes over responsibility for security incidents remain major concerns.
