A suicide attack by Fitna al-Khwarij on the Miryan Police Station in Bannu was successfully foiled after security personnel intercepted an explosive-laden vehicle before it could reach its intended target.
According to security sources, the attackers attempted to ram the explosives-filled vehicle into the police station. However, the strong defensive arrangements enabled security forces to engage the vehicle with gunfire, destroying it before it reached the premises.
Following the explosion, Khwarij attempted to storm the police station, but their assault was repulsed by the security personnel, preventing them from breaching the facility.
Four Khwarij were eliminated during the failed attack, while security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation to ensure no additional attackers remained in the vicinity.
